Today we watched a lot of the videos we made and talked about the pros and cons of each of them. The main point made about music videos were
You need lots of cuts.
A large variation of shot angles.
Experiment with dances - the same thing will get boring.
If appropriate, try to add humour.
Try to learn the words, even if not all at once, learn a line then record it.
If you are simply reading from a lyric sheet it is noticeable in the video.
Try and enjoy yourself.
If you look embarrassed or miserable it reflects on the resulting video.
In our video, people noted that as we were all shown in different places, it gave each of our 'characters' a different back story. Most of our group selected Alex to be the main singer, as he generally started the song and had most screen time. This is probably because he gave the most impressive performance, but i think i gave everyone about equal time on screen, apart form me so it didn't really look like we had a 'main guy'.
